Established as an idyllic refuge and familial haven, the Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home of El Paso lives up to every promise its mission offers. A provider of programs and services for children in transition, it offers counseling, short- and long-term residential services, foster care, adoption services, unplanned pregnancy counseling, family counseling, tutoring, recreation, and life-skills development. Whether out of economic or health needs or even the practical logistics of child supervision, families are welcomed into Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home. Oceanbags is proud and delighted to announce our new partnership with this incredible facility and staff.
Among many statements of philosophy, L&B Moor Children’s Home validates the positive, long-distance love necessary for hardship, some of which we site here:
- Each child is a special gift from God, blessed with unique strengths, talents, abilities, and the potential for positive change.
- Life’s circumstances can overwhelm or interfere with a family’s ability to care for its children properly and effectively.
- Courage, commitment, compassion, and direction are necessary to address problems and to offer or accept forgiveness.
- Every child needs a safe, loving place to grow, build skills, and explore strengths as well as an opportunity to be reunified with his or her family whenever conditions and circumstances allow.
The success stories of children who have benefitted bear this out. See their stories here.
This October 22nd, 2023, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. the L&B Moor Home will host their Annual Operation Pumpkin at the Coronado Country Club. During this fun event, some of El Paso’s most prominent physicians and surgeons will carve pumpkins and auction off their one-of-a-kind, spooktacular creations to benefit the organization. In addition, they will hold a silent auction featuring dozens of desirable items and experiences generously donated by area businesses including… you guessed it—OCEANBAGS! If you’re in the area, be sure to drop in or scan the Holiday Shopping Guide for virtual participation. You can find the QR code at their website here.
Celebrating 64 years of helping vulnerable children and families, the Home has seen more than 30,000 children pass through their doors. Oceanbags expects that our offering of donated backpacks to L&B Moor children as well as our Sundarban backpack for the good of the auction are only incremental first-steps in coordinating mutual support to enrich lives of people in need and make our planet a cleaner, more caring world.
